Other Odd Pages

I have been using CThreePO.com as a catch-all for anything that comes into my mind for many years, now. I have a few essays or ideas that do not fit in anywhere so they wound up here.

These are a few of these articles:

Extreme Poker – My buddies and I have been meeting since high school to play cards. We have played Bridge, Pinochle, a game called Rook, Hearts, and a dozen kinds of Poker. We now play a game that has evolved over the years to use two decks and three hands per person. It is extremely complicated, but very addictive. The rules evolve and we add new rules several times a year.

Google Map of Middle Earth – was fooling with the Google Map API and decided to use it to Map Tolkien’s Middle Earth. I found a huge map and used the API to chop it up. I only wish that I could find a map with more detail.

Flash Powered Star Wars on the Piano – I wrote a simple Flash file that will play piano notes. Combined with JavaScript, you can mouse over the notes an hear them. I made a page of the opening bars of the Star Wars theme for a friend who was interested in learning it.

The Hand of Zorgo – I wrote this SF story as a joke and then it was lost in a disk cleanup. A cleaned up version was sold to SamsDotPublishing.com, but this is the original one, found on an old backup CD years after I wrote it.

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.

I also write Science Fiction, so you can sample some of my best stories. Also available in Kindle format.

I started reading Science Fiction in the 1950s. I started Writing SF in the 1960s. Then, I had a life. Now I am retired, raising chickens and keeping bees. I am still an avid reader and I have sold about 70 stories in the last 20 years.
I have been collecting information about writing Science Fiction for many years now. Social media has replaced the Blog and large dedicated websites, so the pages here are mostly static. I update them from time to time.

Enjoy!
