Voicelive Touch

I can’t sing and it is a big disappointment to me. I try to sing sometimes and realize that I am not hitting notes.

Technology is catching up with this, though, and I have decided to start saving money to by a cool device called the VoiceLive Touch. This has a technology called Pitch Correction that will fix my tin ear.

This is a box that corrects bad singing and more. It also has stuff to make your voice fuller, clearer and smooth. It will do three and four part harmonies automatically or even give you a chorus to back you up. There is only so much that it can do for a bad singer like me, but I think it would help me. It is way too expensive. I’ve decided to put away $50 a month so that by this time next year I can buy one.

This is a video showing a VoiceLive in action:

I discovered Melodyne editor. Its a VST plugin that works for most suites like Pro Tools, FL studios, Reason etc. As you might know, I’m using Cakewalk’s Home Studio. Its a good introduction for hobbyists like myself. A friend at work that has a cracked version of Sonar 8 for me but I’m not sure if it has V-Vocal. V-vocal can do all the things you mentioned. The other thing about Melodyne editor is the price is right at $299CND.

I was looking for something that I could use live at the Blues Jams. That’s why I like the “stomp box” approach. I can just plug in the mic and sing. Nobody wants a harmonica player that can’t sing.

This would be perfect for you.

I’ve been doing some more research into this thing and the more things I find out about it, the more I want to get one. I han’t found any on EBay but from all indications, it looks like its going to retail for about $499US, probably $100 more here in Canada. This thing just blows my mind, its way cool. thanks for posting the vid.

Hi, I just stumbled upon this post about “bad voice” and the Voicelive touch. I’m in the same boat and have used the same company’s “Correct” pedal for the past year. It has really helped, but when i saw the Touch I wanted it too. So amazingly American Musical Supply had it on sale for one week for $399 and I jumped on it. Hated to spend the money but I wanted the advantage of the pitch correction along with the harmonies, the reverb, and the other things. I’ve had it now about a month and am still learning how to use it. It’s not ALL that complicated but I’m NOT a sound engineer and the manual assumes you are. But bit by bit I’ve figured out enough of it to call it a keeper. I’m excited about the prospects… and I will say…it does help me sound better. It’s a good investment. I play the keyboard and got this to go with that. So, keep saving your money. It’s worth it.

I have about $300 saved. If they keep having sales, I should be able to buy it soon!

Thanks for the response. It is a lot of money, but I think it may be worth it.

There is a blues jam in a friend’s cellar that I thought I might attend. I play harp, but if I could sing a little without being laughed at, it would be great.
