I wound up at this page while looking for something else. It is a scientific analysis of gender in blogging. The group analyzed 24,546 blogs split about 50/50 between male and female bloggers. They then ran a program analyzing about 300 million words looking for statistics on word usage. For instance: male bloggers of all ages write more about politics, technology and money than do their female cohorts. Female bloggers discuss their personal lives - and use more personal writing style - much more than males do. Perhaps it is all too predictable. It is probably sexist to point out the obvious.
Here is some data. As you can see male bloggers used the word Money more than women whereas women use the word Eating more than men. This can accurately predict that men think about money and jobs while watching sports on TV. Women think about sleeping, eating and sex when they are with family and friends.

frequency(per 10000 words)
Bloggers, reagardless of sex, blog more like men as they get older: pronouns and assent/negation become scarcer, while prepositions and determiners become more frequent. Young bloggers use internet jargon, while older bloggers use hyperlinks.
