My freenameastar site gets all kinds of star dedications. I see quite a few lost children and pets so I don’t often read them. I am glad that I provide some sort of comfort. Of course, I also get lots of celebrations and there have been some interesting and weird dedications.
I recently updated my search system for finding stars. I searched for “Marry Me” and discovered that there are 8 marriage proposals out of the 14,000 or stars registered. There may be others that word it differently and many stars are in non-English languages.

I’m curiouse about the data side of your free name a star site. How does the star location inde work and where did the key data come from?
I hope you don’t think that’s rude but whenever I see something cool I want to know how it works.
There are many star directories on the internet. I am going to pay for another one that has more data, such as distance to earth. The free ones mostly just have a star number and some basic information and most are outdated.
There are over 1000 star naming services around and about 50 have a free version. My advantage is that I know how to do Search Engine Optimizing and I get more traffic. Even so, it’s a crowded field and I don’t make much money.
