BBT Mag

BBT us shutting down. I know because I had a humorous story there for about 50 days.

From BBT Editors:

Thanks for your submission and thanks especially for your patience.

We are returning your submission unopened and unread, and freeing it for other markets.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you but due to personal reasons, BBT Magazine is shutting it's doors.

If it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all – Albert King in Born Under a Bad Sign.

Now I have to find another humor market to send them this silly silly story.

Aoife’s Kiss and Tales of the Talisman will both sometimes consider humorous speculative fiction…and they’re not showing any signs of going away any time soon.

I already have had a story at TOT for almost 2 months. It’s getting near time to find out that they lost it. TOT is a good market for those cross genre or not so specficky stories that I write lately.

The humorous story is jokey funny and is too weak on plot, I think, for Aoife’s. I also like to send to markets that report in less than 6 months as I am not a patient person.

The story involves alien abduction on high school prom night and how a math geek girl finds satisfaction with a nerd boy, as well as being abducted by the hive queen on board the Übermind’s mother ship.

It was written in about 40 minutes as anyone who reads it can tell. I could get it published at one of the free sites, but I always regret it later when I do that. I think it is trunk time until another silly story market opens up. (Already an R from ASIM).

The last response I got from ToT was a month and a half acceptance. That was in the Spring, and I know Dave has been a bit busier lately…but I’d think you’d hear back soon.
